A message from the Governor of Tasmania

It is with deep regret that I inform the people of Tasmania that Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, The Queen of Australia, has passed away at Balmoral Castle in Scotland, early on the morning of Friday 9 September 2022 Australian Eastern Standard Time.

Her Majesty’s health had been closely monitored by doctors throughout the day, following an extended period of declining health.
