In the afternoon, the High Commissioner for the United Kingdom, Her Excellency Mrs Victoria Treadell, arrived at Government House to stay.

In the evening the Governor of Tasmania, the Honourable Barbara Baker, and Emeritus Professor Don Chalmers hosted a dinner in honour of the visit to Tasmania by the High Commissioner for the United Kingdom.
