In the evening, the Governor and Emeritus Professor Don Chalmers hosted a reception to mark the 30th anniversary of the Coal River Valley Garden Club Inc.

Later, the Governor presided at the swearing-in of Mr Christopher Shanahan as Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Tasmania and Lieutenant Governor of the State of Tasmania.
